Hey Lori,

Since I'm going to be in New York in August, any where you recommend that I have to go too? I'm thinking I will be in town for a week.

Thanks!

Definitely the Metropolitan Museum of Art and my museum, the AMNH. Make sure to see the Extreme Mammals exhibit!

If you've never been to Times Square, that's worth a trip, just because. The TRU there is really fun.

FAO and World of Disney on 5th Avenue. It's fun to walk down 5th around that area. All the high-end shops are there.

Central Park is worth at least a little walkthrough. Even if you just cross it to get from the AMNH to the Met. Heh. They're on opposite sides.

Depending on what time you come, I may still be here, too.

I will be there over the weekend of Aug 7 to 9th for sure and will most likely stay the week. I've never been to the states so this is going to be fun. :)

Central Park is on my list, sounds like the summit I am going to will meet there for a day in the park on Sunday.

Extreme Mammals? Oh yeah, I'll be checking that out if it's still there.

What does FAO stand for? I should know what it is but I'm drawing a blank...

Thanks for all the info! Your the best

The Extreme Mammal exhibit runs through January, so it'll be there.

FAO = FAO Schwarz. Big famous toy store.

Way cool thanks.

Can you think of any place that is best seen with a new yorker (aka you?) if your around and not crazy busy. And want to meet up with me?

I'll be off on Tuesday and Wednesday. I work 9-5 the other days and in August, we're not supposed to take days off, so it'd have to be those two days. I'd be perfectly happy to go around with you!

Seeing as it's me, I'd probably be best for taking you to the toy shops. Heh. Or the museums, of course!

Or both? Would one day be enough time to cover the two museums you mentioned?

Tuesday or Wednesday is fine with me. I don't know what the schedule is other then the friday night through to Sunday afternoon is booked solid and I want to spend a couple more days there on my own to explore NYC. If I'm going that far might as well see some of the city.

It honestly depends how into the museums you are. Both are huge, but you may not be interested in everything in them.
